Seebeck used the plates to produce a variety of imperforate colors for his sales to stamp dealers. These were promoted as "essays," "proofs," or "trials," but they never saw the shores of Honduras.
This is the only Seebeck where remainders were not delivered to New York, but keep in mind that over half of the printed stamps were never shipped to Honduras.
